The college football betting season for 2011 has flown by, as it seems like just yesterday we were writing about which teams would make up this season’s National Title game. As we enter week 12 of the bookie software season, there are still plenty of picks to look forward too. Here are the latest football picks in the NCAA.
Oklahoma State Cowboys v Iowa State Cyclones (+27) – The Oklahoma State Cowboys are in the middle of quietly putting together one of the best seasons in school history. Currently winning its first 10 games of the season, the Cowboys will have their guns a blazing this weekend, when they take on the Iowa State Cyclones. The Cyclones are five and four on the season, and by all NFL accounts, that is a very generous record.
From a betting standpoint, the Oklahoma State Cowboys have gone eight and two against the spread this season, and as 27-point favorites in Friday’s game, should move to nine and two. This game also features the Cowboys number two ranked offense taking on the Cyclones 90th ranked defense, if you take Iowa State, we hope you haven’t wagered too much money.
SMU Mustangs v Houston Cougars (- 20) – The Houston Cougars are another team that fans and media alike believe should be playing for a National Title in January. If it were up to everyone not apart of the NCAA council, the Cougars would be facing off with the aforementioned Cowboys in what would be the highest scoring BCS Title game in its history.
Led by Kasey Keenum, the Cougars have devoured basically every team they have faced this season. When they take on SMU, things shouldn’t be that different. SMU started hot out of the gate, but has since faded rapidly.

Week 10 of the Breeders Cup betting college football season has fans and analysts alike chomping at the bit. With only three weeks left in the regular season, there is still plenty left to be determined. For instance, one question hovering over most bookie software agents, is will the loser of Alabama v LSU still be able to qualify for the National Title game? Here are the best picks for week 10 of the NFL college football betting season.
LSU Tigers v Alabama Crimson Tide – The annual Tigers verses Crimson Tide game has special meaning this season, as LSU is the top ranked school in the nation and Alabama is ranked second. Theoretically, if Jared Lee can guide the Tigers over Alabama, they should go undefeated the rest of the way en route to a National Title berth. At the same time, if Nick Saban has the Tide defense playing how they have been the entire season, the Tide should come out of this game with the victory. By all accounts, LSU and Alabama has the making of a classic finish. For this reason, we are taking the Crimson Tide to pull off the upset in a 20 to 17 victory.
Oklahoma State Cowboys v Kansas State Wildcats – Kansas State has been one of the feel good stories of the season up until last week, when Oklahoma killed them and their National title hopes. This weekend against the third ranked Cowboys, we will see if the Wildcats were really a good team, or just beneficiaries of a soft schedule. This game is huge for the Cowboys, as a win essentially can guarantee them a National title berth, since they will remain undefeated after this game. Look for the Cowboys to make a statement, in a 45 to 15 rout.

One of the most difficult decisions online bettors can make is to choose the right sportsbook. Over the last 20 years, the betting industry has grown from a handful of books to over 1000. As a result fans new to betting online have a wide variety to choose from. Here are five reasons you should factor into your decision the next time you decide to join a new sportsbook.
1. Financial Status – The financial status of the given sportsbook is the most significant factor you should consider before making your initial deposit. For every sportsbook that ranks among the top 10 in the industry there are 100s that have flopped because of financial trouble. One of the biggest issues in the industry, are sportsbooks promising quick payouts, then getting into financial trouble and using the deposits to pay off their debt rather than payout to the clientele. For the majority of online sportsbooks that have been around for the last 20 years, their biggest reason for success is stability as their finances is never an issue.
2. Bonus Programs – For the new bettors this is your second biggest factor in joining a new sportsbook. Bonuses are essentially the free money the sportsbook offers you either for winning a target amount or to welcome you to the sportsbook. The majority of sportsbooks offer a 20 percent bonus for joining and 25 percent bonus for referring your friends. However sportsbooks such as betonline.com offer a 45 percent bonus for joining and up to $900 when in total bonus money. Before you join shop around for the best deposit bonuses and free plays.
3. Wagering – Too many times have we seen sportsbooks that make wagering more difficult than it has to be. One would think, your goal as a sportsbook is to make the clients ability to wager as easy as possible. Most sportsbooks looking to keep you as a customer have started to employ simple to use software, which allows for the patrons to test out the site prior to making an actual wager.
4. Betting Options – As a bettor you want three things, stable sports book, bonuses and a lot of betting options. In the early days having more than 10 betting line options used to be the difference between casual and experienced bettors joining the site. Now for the most part you are able to have over 100 betting options for any given sport on specific sites. So shop around for the betting options you feel the most comfortable with.
5. Simplicity Of Making Transactions – As noted above with shady financial status, one of the biggest problems used to be that sportsbooks would let you deposit no problem, however withdrawing was harder than it should have been. Two things you should know is that in North America you are better off using a site such as PayPal or a money wire transfer rather than a credit card as online gambling is illegal in most areas. In Europe on the contrary most sportsbooks will take credit cards PayPal and so forth as gambling is legal.
