The college football betting season for 2011 has flown by, as it seems like just yesterday we were writing about which teams would make up this season’s National Title game. As we enter week 12 of the bookie software season, there are still plenty of picks to look forward too. Here are the latest football picks in the NCAA.
Oklahoma State Cowboys v Iowa State Cyclones (+27) – The Oklahoma State Cowboys are in the middle of quietly putting together one of the best seasons in school history. Currently winning its first 10 games of the season, the Cowboys will have their guns a blazing this weekend, when they take on the Iowa State Cyclones. The Cyclones are five and four on the season, and by all NFL accounts, that is a very generous record.
From a betting standpoint, the Oklahoma State Cowboys have gone eight and two against the spread this season, and as 27-point favorites in Friday’s game, should move to nine and two. This game also features the Cowboys number two ranked offense taking on the Cyclones 90th ranked defense, if you take Iowa State, we hope you haven’t wagered too much money.
SMU Mustangs v Houston Cougars (- 20) – The Houston Cougars are another team that fans and media alike believe should be playing for a National Title in January. If it were up to everyone not apart of the NCAA council, the Cougars would be facing off with the aforementioned Cowboys in what would be the highest scoring BCS Title game in its history.
Led by Kasey Keenum, the Cougars have devoured basically every team they have faced this season. When they take on SMU, things shouldn’t be that different. SMU started hot out of the gate, but has since faded rapidly.

Week 10 of the Breeders Cup betting college football season has fans and analysts alike chomping at the bit. With only three weeks left in the regular season, there is still plenty left to be determined. For instance, one question hovering over most bookie software agents, is will the loser of Alabama v LSU still be able to qualify for the National Title game? Here are the best picks for week 10 of the NFL college football betting season.
LSU Tigers v Alabama Crimson Tide – The annual Tigers verses Crimson Tide game has special meaning this season, as LSU is the top ranked school in the nation and Alabama is ranked second. Theoretically, if Jared Lee can guide the Tigers over Alabama, they should go undefeated the rest of the way en route to a National Title berth. At the same time, if Nick Saban has the Tide defense playing how they have been the entire season, the Tide should come out of this game with the victory. By all accounts, LSU and Alabama has the making of a classic finish. For this reason, we are taking the Crimson Tide to pull off the upset in a 20 to 17 victory.
Oklahoma State Cowboys v Kansas State Wildcats – Kansas State has been one of the feel good stories of the season up until last week, when Oklahoma killed them and their National title hopes. This weekend against the third ranked Cowboys, we will see if the Wildcats were really a good team, or just beneficiaries of a soft schedule. This game is huge for the Cowboys, as a win essentially can guarantee them a National title berth, since they will remain undefeated after this game. Look for the Cowboys to make a statement, in a 45 to 15 rout.
College Football Week 8 Picks

If there were one thing that breeders cup betting enthusiasts can attest to this college football season, it would be, that there is no boring week. Entering week eight of the 2011 season, seven of the top eight teams remain undefeated. However, week eight has been known for years, as a bookie software trap week, as many of the top teams look past their opponents, and miss out on the spread. With that in mind, here are a few games fans should look into.
LSU Tigers v Auburn Tigers – In a battle of the ferocious cats, the 2011 BCS National Champions take on a team that projects to be the 2012 BCS National Champions. After losing Cam Newton and Nick Fairly to the NFL draft, the Auburn Tigers were supposed to regress this season. Instead, Auburn is presently ranked 20th in the nation and owns a five wins and two loss record through seven games. What’s more, at 22.5 point underdogs, Auburn, who won last year’s thrilling affair has the potential to not only cover the spread, but pull the upset as well. Pick: Auburn to cover.
Washington Huskies V Stanford Cardinals – The Stanford Cardinals have arguably the best all around quarterback in either the NCAA or NFL today. Currently undefeated on the season, the Cardinals welcome in the Washington Huskies for their annual clash this coming Saturday. Now normally, we wouldn’t even consider the 25th ranked team a threat for the eighth ranked team. But consider this, with literally no brand name talents on their squad; the Huskies are still ranked this season, and own one of the best offenses in the nation. Meaning to say, at 21 point underdogs, comparable to Auburn, the Huskies offense should be able to do enough to keep them in the game and cover the spread. Pick: Washington to cover.

Intertops betting players should be getting ready for UFC 136, which features a pair of championship fights in Houston, but the main attraction is the third fight between lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard, who have already participated in this year’s best fight with their classic on New Year’s Day. Will the third live up to the hype?
Edgar Maynard Odds – Saturday, 7:00 PM ET
Edgar (13-1-1) has a versatile game that allows him to be comfortable on the mat or standing up, and he uses his quickness and technique to make up for a lack of size. Many feel he should move down to 145 pounds as he is a small lightweight, but price per head players who have been paying attention know that Edgar can hold his own in this class.
Maynard (10-0-1) should have won the second fight, but he couldn’t finish Edgar after a flurry in the first round, allowing the champion to get back in the fight. Maynard has a lot of power in his hands and a strong wrestling background that allows him to push him opponent around the octagon, which is why he is nicknamed “The Bully”.
UFC odds have Edgar as a slight -140 favorite here, while Maynard is rated at +110, and this should be another close fight as both men are as tough as nails, so it should go the distance. Edgar has learned his lesson; stay away from Maynard’s power punches, and he’ll use his speed to get around for a decision victory. Take Frankie Edgar in your favorite sportsbooks.
