NHL Betting – The Top Five Free Agents On The Market

Even baseball betting players know team have to play the free-agent game, and the NHL’s edition of this kicks off on Friday, where clubs will be competing for the signatures of these five names.
Brad Richards
Richards probably won’t resign with Dallas, and he’s the biggest name on the market. He still has some good years left at 31, and he’s still one of the best set-up men in the game. If you’re a team with a sniper (hello, Toronto), you’re trying to persuade Richards to come to your team.
Ville Leino
Leino is also a good set-up man, but the Flyers may look to keep him after trading Mike Richards and Jeff Carter out of town. He is also heading into his prime at 27, and Leino will get a raise as he gets added responsibility in Philadelphia.
Tomas Vokoun
Vokoun has played for some bad Nashville and Florida teams, and it would be interesting to see what his numbers would be like if he played on a good team. He may be willing to take a pay cut too, after earning $5.7 million last year.
Erik Cole
Cole played 82 games for the first time in his career at 32 years old, and he could provide veteran leadership on a young team. He can also still put the puck in the back of the net, and teams are always looking for that.
Dwayne Roloson
At the other end of the spectrum, teams could do a lot worse than to offer a one-year deal to 41-year-old Roloson, who excels in do-or-die situations. Tampa Bay wouldn’t have gotten as far as they did without him, and the team that picks “Rollie The Goalie” will be improving their betting odds for next season.
Betting MLB – Brewers-Red Sox Highlight Weekend Interleague Play

Those betting MLB this weekend will find a full slate of interleague matchups to check out, and here is a look at some trends, beginning with a series that could be a World Series preview.
Brewers Red Sox Betting
The Red Sox have roared to the lead in the American League East after a slow start, while the Brewers are trying to hold off St. Louis in the National League Central, but they’ll be hoping for a better time than their last visit to Fenway Park in 2008. Boston swept that three-game series, with two games going over the posted total.
Yankees Cubs Betting
The Yankees should be favored on the road at Wrigley Field, where they dropped two of three back in 2003. Two of those three games came in under the posted total, but check the total because the Yankees could have a big weekend: New York is tied with Boston for the major-league lead in runs scored heading into the weekend, while only Houston has allowed more runs this season that the Cubs.
Giants Athletics Betting
The “Bay Bridge” series kicks off on Friday in Oakland, where the Giants have split their last 10 meetings with the Athletics. Eight of those games have come in under the posted total, which shouldn’t be surprising as both teams have built their teams around pitching. Both rank in the bottom five teams in terms of runs scored, and they’re in the top 10 when it comes to runs allowed, so expect a low-scoring series when heading to online betting sites.
Online March Madness Betting – Navigating The First Round

Online March Madness betting is usually at its most frantic during the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament, and especially during the first round where anything can happen. Here are a few tips to check out before you make your first-round picks.
There are always upsets to watch out for, but it’s almost to the point where a No.12 seed beating a No.5 seed is a given. The No.12 seed has won over 33% of their first-round meetings, and it’s pretty much a certainty that it will happen at least once, so check out the bracket to find which one will take down a No.5.
However, don’t bet against the best. The No.1 seed hasn’t lost in 104 meetings with the No.16 seed, and only five times has the No.16 has come within five points of a major upset, and the last time that happened was 1996. Usually, the No.16 will come out with lots of energy due to adrenaline, but as the game progresses, the No.1 seed will start to flex their muscles.
If you want a real test of your betting skills, take the 8-9 matchup. The No.8 seed is 48-56 against the No.9 seed in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, and the teams are usually so close that it is a toss-up. This is where your research and watching the games come into play, and if you are committed to doing some work, you could make a sports betting profit off this matchup.
PayPerHead.com launches new pricing, a new site, and a new campaign featuring Soprano’s Johnny Sack

PayPerHead.com, an online sportsbook service provider for local agents, today unveiled a new campaign featuring Vince Curatola, Johnny Sack of The Sopranos fame.
The campaign leads with Vince asking “Five bucks per head, that’s what I wanna pay…” and the website, featuring video and voice overs by Vince, walks you through the product, the process and the competition.
“Five bucks a head is really an industry first given our level of service,” a spokesman from PayPerHead.com explained. “And we very carefully and in great detail delineate on the website exactly what you get and at what price level at PayPerHead versus the other serious players, such as Book ‘em Direct.”
And what you get is a lot, including not only the traditional online per head sportsbook but an optional casino, live poker, in game live betting, mobile betting, tools for managing players and their funds, layoff and scalp accounts, even a “sharp check.” “We have the sharpest lines out there and one of the most experienced stages anywhere offshore,” the spokesman said, “so if we start seeing sharp action from one of your players, we can give you a heads up. What you want to do with him is up to you.”
The choice of Vince Curatola was an interesting one. “We always liked Vince’s character on The Sopranos, as John “Johnny Sack” Sacramoni,” the PayPerHead spokesman said. “He had a certain style, classy, but not over the top; there’s a calmness and authority about him that we really admire. He brings that serious business demeanor to PayPerHead.com, the first sportsbook-service to EVER feature any kind of celebrity in its marketing.”
With post-up books like BetUS, Sportsbook.com and SportsInteraction stopping taking US players, Bodog and others struggling with “Ecom” processing problems, the street scene is heating up and players are posting daily in forums looking for a “local out.” Players want the huge selection of markets, including live in-game betting, and the convenience of anytime betting online or via their mobile, but more and more say “they want to bet online but prefer to settle in cash on Monday.”
Is this the future of online sports betting? Quite possibly. And with firms like PayPerHead.com investing in marketing in an unprecedented way (celebs, who’d have thunk it?!) and in product (they also offer live poker, casino and in-game betting), expect to see this sector grow significantly this season.
