MLB baseball betting players are gearing up for their run to the playoffs, but in the NFL, the action is just getting started as the regular season is right around the corner. It is the easy pick to roll with the favorites, but New England has the talent on both sides of the ball. More importantly, their veterans and coaching staff know what it takes to win the Super Bowl.
Chad Ochocinco should add to an offense led by Tom Brady, and he should be able to stretch the field a little while Brady to works to Wes Welker and the tight-end duo of Aaron Hernandez and Rob Growkowski underneath. Albert Haynesworth is the big addition to a young defense that got better as last season wore on, and they can force turnovers as well as anyone in the league. But if Haynesworth can remain motivated, he and Vince Wilfork can dominate offensive lines. Coach Bill Belichick is better than anyone at motivating his players, so you know he had a conversation with both Ochocinco and Haynesworth before the Patriots acquired them.
Ochocinco won’t be a problem (he rarely is, at least in the mean-spirited way), but Haynesworth should know that he is on a short leash and he won’t get many chances with Belichick. In fact, he may get only one, given his past. But we trust the Patriots more than any other team in the league, which is why they’re our sports betting pick for the Super Bowl.

Even those who play poker online have to be impressed by Anderson Silva’s run through the UFC: 13 straight wins, including nine defenses of the middleweight title in a row and he’s arguably the pound-for-pound king. His last loss came in January 2006, a controversial disqualification against Yushin Okami, and he’ll get a chance to avenge that at UFC 134, the first time that the UFC has gone to Brazil since 1998.
UFC Betting – August 27th, 9:00 PM ET
Silva (30-4) is coming off a huge knockout of fellow Brazilian Vitor Belfort in February, and after a few subpar performances, “The Spider” showed that when he is motivated, he may be the most explosive fighter in the world. Silva still isn’t the strongest in terms of takedown defenses, but he can submit you before you know it: ask Chael Sonnen.
Okami (26-5) has won three in a row and this may be his only chance to take the middleweight title from Silva, so he will be ready for this fight. Okami is a black belt in judo, and he grinds his opponents down, but don’t let that fool you as he can strike as well.
Silva is a huge -450 sports betting favorite in this rematch, and in the first match, he was disqualified for kicking Okami while Okami’s knees were on the ground, but Silva was also on the mat and called Okami a coward for taking the win in that fashion. That means Silva has plenty of motivation and that isn’t good news for Okami. Wager on Anderson Silva in your online betting book.
