Preakness StakesPreakness Stakes betting players are getting ready to wager on the second jewel in the Triple Crown on Saturday, as the Preakness goes on at Pimlico Race Course. It’s going to be much like the Kentucky Derby, in which Animal Kingdom surprised everyone to come away with the win. Here are the best choices to win the “Run For The Black-Eyed Susans”.

Dialed In

He struggled to get going in the first half of the Kentucky Derby as one of the pre-race favorites, eventually coming in eighth, but if Dialed In can find some room in a field that is less crowded (The Preakness is a 14-horse race compared to 20 for the Derby), he could run away from the field.

Shackleford

Shackleford was the pacesetter for the first part of the Derby before the rest of the field caught up to him, and he ended up finishing fourth. But Pimlico is a faster track than Churchill Downs, so he may be able to get out to a big lead, although we’ve seen him give up leads before (see Shackleford’s second-place finish in the Florida Derby against Dialed In).

Dance City

This horse is gaining momentum among breeders cup betting players as Dance City is a consistent horse that always looks relaxed, and he’s especially strong coming down the stretch, which could play into his stable’s plans as the Preakness really gets going around the quarter pole. Kentucky Derby BettingKentucky Derby betting is the hot play this weekend, and on Saturday, the “Run For The Roses” will go off for the 137th time at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. Here is a look at three horses to watch in what should be a wide open affair.

Dialed In was the favorite before Uncle Mo was scratched with a gastrointestinal infection, but he will likely be a bigger favorite now. He rolled to a big win in the Grade 1 Florida Derby with a fantastic come-from-behind performance, and in four races, Dialed In has three wins and a second-place run. Julien Leparoux has been the only jockey Dialed In has known, so continuity could play a big factor in this as they go off in the No.8 post position.

Shackleford finished second to Dialed In at the Florida Derby and would love another shot at the Derby favorite, and he has two wins and a second-place run in five career races. This is his first time running on dirt, so that could be a factor, but Shackleford showed great balance and stamina in the Florida Derby, so he definitely has a shot.

Twice The Appeal is a longshot, but with Calvin Borel in the saddle, anything can happen at Churchill Downs. Borel has won three of the last four Derbies, and he’s going off in post No.3, so he doesn’t have far to take Twice The Appeal to the rail. Look for Twice The Appeal to get some action from sports betting players.
