Saints Will Run To A Win

The Super Bowl line may favor the Indianapolis Colts for the big game but there is plenty of reason to like the New Orleans Saints. The chief reason: the Saints have the No. 6 ranked running game in the NFL.
The New York Jets proved how far a team can go against the Colts by simply running the ball. In the AFC Championship Game, the Jets pounded away with the run and earned a 17-6 (which should have been 20-6) before halftime.
The Saints running game isn’t quite as good as the Jets, but they still have a very underrated ground game and they have the passing weapons to put it over the top.
While most bettors think of the Saints as a passing team, they’ll have to hope that the Saints run the ball plenty if they want to win the Super Bowl.
Running the ball not only forced the Colts to move defenders to the line of scrimmage and slow down the run, it also creates openings in the secondary. More importantly, it also keeps Peyton Manning and the Colts offense on the sidelines where they can’t score.
This is going to be a close contest but look for the Saints to use their running game strategically and get the win. Since the Colts aren’t as adept at running the ball, this is one area where the Saints can take advantage and pave their own way to victory.
